History

Gonzalez earned his Bachelor of Science in aviation business administration from the Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University on the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station. In 1996, he graduated from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (now the Texas A&M University School of Law).

Gonzalez founded his law firm, V. Gonzalez & Associates, in 1997.[citation needed] He is licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court.[

Vicente González served as the representative for Texas’s 15th congressional district from 2017 to 2023.

2022 TX Governor Race

The 2022 Texas gubernatorial election will take place on November 8, 2022, to elect the governor of Texas. Incumbent Republican Governor Greg Abbott is running for re-election to a third term. Gubernatorial primaries were held on March 1, 2022. Abbott won the Republican primary, while former U.S. Representative Beto O’Rourke won the Democratic primary.

Texas does not have gubernatorial term limits. All statewide elected offices are currently held by Republicans. In his most recent gubernatorial race in 2018, Abbott won with 55.8% of the vote.

2022 TX34 – US House Race

The 34th district stretches from McAllen and Brownsville in the Rio Grande Valley, northward along the Gulf Coast. The incumbent is Republican Mayra Flores, who was first elected with 50.9% of the vote in 2022. On March 22, 2021, former incumbent Filemon Vela announced that he would not seek reelection in 2022.

However, on October 26, 2021, Vicente Gonzalez, the current Congressman for Texas’s 15th congressional district announced that he intended to run in the new 34th district after the 15th became more Republican and his residence was put into the 34th.
